Artist Statement:
My art investigates the notion of metamorphosis and the human form. I do so by deconstructing, transforming, altering, exchanging, multiplying and eliminating body parts to create exotic organic humanoids that portray mystery and provocation.
Sources of inspiration that influence my art making are those that emerge from artificial alterations and natural mutations such as body modifications, siamese twins, cutaneous horns, polymelia and the carnival “freaks” of the 1800’s. In my work process I render multiple iterations of an idea to achieve the final product that matches my vision.
